In 2006 the airport passed one of many milestones its 50th year anniversary. After World War II the country felt the need to have a second national airport constructed, and Rotterdam was chosen. Prior to the war there was an airport, but it was destroyed during the war so the started to rebuild at a different location in the city in 1955 and in October 1056 the Rotterdam Airport was opened.

Austin-Bergstorm International Airport
Located just southeast of the capital of Texas is Austin-Bergstorm International Airport. Very similar to other airports throughout the country, its history is rich in military influence. One different fact about the airport is the runways are dedicated and named after politicians, President Lyndon B. Johnson and former Congressmen J.J. "Jake" Pickle. Also another fun fact is that one of the terminals has a stage, that many musicians traveling through they area entertain the many passengers traveling through the airport.
