When traveling to the Canadian province of British Columbia, a prime destination is Vancouver. Vancouver International Airport has grown leaps and bounds from its very humble beginning. Although he didn't come there on his tour of North America, Charles Lindburgh played a large role in the creation of the airport. He declined to visit stating "there is no fit field to land on", so with bruised egos the Vancouver community decided to build a "fit field". Today Lindburgh would be proud of the airport, for where he denied, many others have come, in fact Vancouver International was the only North American airport to host the Airbus A380 on its tests flights. You could say that aviation has come a long way, especially in Vancouver!
