Winter Wonderland at Sweden's Ice Hotel

Picture this, you step off your private jets in Sweden at the Kiruna Airport and waiting along side for you are two husky sledge rides. In your head your thinking, “Wow it is cold out here, but this looks like it will be enough fun to get the blood flowing.” You mush your way through a clad forest, across a frozen lake and there it is, a majestic illumination within the night’s sky known as the Aurora Borealis or Northern Lights.

After admiring the picturesque view you continue on your journey. Stumbling upon a hut in the wilderness, you stop for a traditional dinner consisting of smoked salmon, hearty moose soup and richly served hot lingonberry juice topped with a fine dessert. At this point your thinking, “It doesn’t get any better than this,” but oh yes, it does. You continue on your venture, approaching your final destination and there in the midnight sky just below the horizon is the Ice Hotel a grand ice palace, too magnificent for words to express.

Each day at the hotel is as adventurous as the first with tons of activities to choose from, like downhill skiing at Bjorkliden, ice sculpting, curling, ice fishing, a moose safari on horseback, wilderness snowmobile tours and more.

Prepare yourself for an unforgettable experience!
