Like many airports in United States Portsmouth had it beginning as a military base, but unlike many today the military portion is still located there. The Pease International Tradeport is home to both Portsmouth International Airport and the New Hampshire Air National Guard. Once nice feature of Portsmouth International is that it is conveniently located within 50 miles of Boston, Portland, and Manchester.
